Description: The zines in the Chicago Great Lakes Underground Press Collection are published in the Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

2Gelvin, Vanessa
Description: Vanessa Gelvin is the author of the thesis "Do-It-Yourself, Do-It-Together: Culture and Community in Chicago's Zine Scene." This collection, donated in 2006, includes Gelvin's thesis, as well as zines and ephemera collected during her research.

3Goldman, Batya
Description: Batya Goldman created the Chicago zine, U-Direct, and initiated the first Chicago Underground Press Conference in 1994. She donated her personal collection of zines to DePaul University?s Special Collections and Archives in 1997.

4Luellen, Michelle
Description: Michelle Luellen donated her zine collection to DePaul in 2006. Many of the zines reflect an interest in feminism and activism.

5Makagon, Daniel
Description: In 2005, Dr. Daniel Makagon, Associate Professor in DePaul's Communications Department, began bringing his Underground Culture classes to the Special Collections and Archives for introduction and exploratory sessions with the zine collections. In 2009, he donated his personal collection of zines to the archives.

Description: Kathy Moseley, creator of Chicago zine Semi Bold, donated her personal collection of zines in 2000. Her collecting interests included women's issues.

7Nolan, Kim
Description: Kim Nolan donated her zine collection to DePaul in 1997. Nolan?s involvement in the early 1990s hardcore and straight-edge music scene, as well as her interest in feminism and activism, is evident throughout the collection.

8Rayson, Anthony
Description: Anthony Rayson, author of the Thought Bombs zine, works with prisoners across the United States to create and publish zines. He also operates South Chicago ABC Zine Distro. He donated his collection to DePaul's Special Collections and Archives in 2008.

Description: Heath Row donated his papers and zine collection to DePaul University in 1997 and continues to transfer materials.

Description: The Chip Rowe Collection includes zines and interview correspondence he used to research zine publishing.

Description: The Underground Press Conference Collection contains organizational records and zines generated at the Underground Press Conference held in Chicago from 1994-1996.
