Navigating the library
The DePaul University Libraries' collection of over 800,000 volumes is mainly housed in the John T. Richardson Library in Lincoln Park and in the Loop Campus Library. Browse our collections of books, periodicals, microforms, and reference materials; work in one of several computer labs located within the campus libraries; or find your perfect spot to study throughout the buildings, in either our designated quiet areas or in group study rooms. At each of our four suburban campuses, librarians are also available to help you with your research, and to make sure you get the materials you need.
Doing research
Your DePaul ID enables you to request and check out books, DVDs, and other materials from any DePaul campus library, and request books via the I-Share catalog from more than 70 additional libraries in Illinois. Obtain the full text of journal & newspaper articles, encyclopedias, e-books and more, online through the library web site. For articles you cannot access online, or for books not owned by any I-Share library, we will try to obtain them via interlibrary loan.
To begin your research, choose from our discipline-specific subject guides which highlight important resources in each field of study. A liaison librarian with specialized knowledge of the collection has been assigned to every college, school, or department, and can assist with your research needs.
