Mac Martino is a Business & Social Sciences Librarian at the Loop Library. They are the subject specialist for Economics, Finance & Real Estate, the School of Accountancy & MIS, and the School of Cinematic Arts.

Mac attended DePaul and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media and a minor in Digital Cinema. In their final year, Mac was a Peer Research Tutor in the Richardson Library, helping students with navigating and accessing library resources. Interested in continuing to work in libraries, they worked in several public and research libraries throughout Chicagoland, gaining experience across all library functions. They then worked toward and received their Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois in 2022 through the online LEEP program.

In August 2023, Mac returned to DePaul as a part-time Reference Librarian in the Richardson Library, largely continuing similar but expanded responsibilities when they were a Peer Research Tutor. After three years of serving with the library, Mac was promoted full-time to a Business & Social Sciences Librarian and transferred to the Loop Library in August 2026. In addition to serving as a subject-specialist, Mac is passionate about library instruction and reference service and is always looking to improve. They serve on the Instruction Tutorial and Instruction working groups, working on all aspects of library tutorials and assessing first-year instruction.

Outside of the library, Mac plays and follows basketball (go Bulls and Sky!), practices piano and producing in Ableton, dabbles in Nintendo Switch games, and regularly bakes breads and various sweets.
