Collections at DePaul

​DePaul University Library contains collections of books and other materials that are shelved separately from most of our circulating collections. Collections may be located at the John T. Richardson Library (Lincoln Park) and/or the Loop Library.

Chicago Collection​

(JTR, 1st floor) Contains books on all aspects of Chicago, including history, politics, art and architecture, sociology, and a wide range of other topics.  Browse the Chicago Collection. Books in the Chicago collection can be checked out by current DePaul University students, faculty and staff only. However, there is often a second copy available for checkout in the main collection and those copies are available to I-Share patrons and for interlibrary loan. For more information see the  Chicago Research Guide​.

Cu​rriculum Materials Collection

(JTR, 2nd floor) Contains textbooks, children's and young adult literature, and activity books for use in building lesson plans and curriculum units. For more information, see the research guide Curriculum Materials: How to Find Them.

Faculty Publications

(JTR, 1st floor; Loop, near Research Help Desk) Contains books recently published by DePaul Faculty.

Graphic Novels

(JTR, 1st floor, near Research Help Desk) Contains a variety of popular and best-selling graphic novels across many genres.

Music Scores & Recordings

(JTR, 2nd and 4th floors) Recordings are located on the 2nd floor. Scores are located on the 4th floor.

Reference Books

(JTR, 2nd floor; Loop, near Research Help Desk) Includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, citation manuals, and more.

Special Collections and Archives

(Third Floor) holds rich primary source materials, maps, and rare and specialized books on the local community, DePaul University, and Vincentian history.

Unwind the Mind

(JTR, 1st floor Haber Lounge; Loop) Popular reading, bestsellers, fiction, non-fiction, and more.

Video Game & Consoles

(JTR, 1st floor, Access Services Desk; Loop, Media Room) Collection of video games & consoles.
