DePaul Art Museum
The DePaul University Library partners with the
DePaul Art Museum to provide faculty and students with extraordinary collections and expert service designed to support teaching, learning, scholarship, and community engagement across the curriculum. Showcasing art, rare books, and archival collections through exhibitions and publications, and teaching critical thinking on-site and online, DePaul’s libraries and museums are a center for intellectual inquiry and academic engagement outside the classroom. Notable initiatives pursued jointly in recent years include the digitization and provision of open access to
selected museum catalogs and publications through the library’s institutional repository, Via, and the development of
library research guides designed to complement course-integrated use of museum exhibitions. As a center for the study of the work of Chicago artists, the DePaul Art Museum also complements the DePaul University Library as a center for teaching, learning, and research into the local community as part of our shared contributions to
Chicago Collections.
Enrollment Management
The DePaul University Library partners with the
Division of Enrollment Management to design and deliver library services that contribute to the university’s focus on student recruitment, retention, and academic success. Working with a number of programs housed in Enrollment Management
Center for Access and Attainment, the library has established new partnerships with Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Catholic Schools, and community colleges in Chicago and the surrounding area to promote information literacy as a critical component of academic success for incoming first-year and transfer students. Notable initiatives pursued jointly in recent years have included
library support for K-12 teachers and students enrolled in the DePaul College Prep High School International Baccalaureate program and partnerships with community college libraries associated with the
DePaul Admission Partnership Program.
University Marketing and Communications
The DePaul University Library partners with the DePaul's University Marketing and Communications to produce the Into the Archives feature for Newsline, a bi-weekly newsletter produced for members of the DePaul community. Into the Archives introduces members of the DePaul community to the history of the university and its faculty, students, staff, and alumni, and generates greater awareness among creators of university records of the importance of the archives as steward of the university’s history. Into the Archives provides a popular complement to the Archiving 101 workshop offered by the library in partnership with the Department of Records Management.
Studio Chi
The DePaul University Library partners with
Studio CHI to promote innovation in teaching, learning, and scholarship across the university, especially in the areas of digital humanities, data services, and digital scholarship. Librarians have partnered with faculty in digital humanities and social sciences to provide a space for innovative teaching in the
Scholar’s Lab since 2013, and are currently working with Studio CHI faculty on research projects such as
Reading Chicago Reading. This partnership will expand and deepen in Fall 2017 when Studio CHI moves into the Richardson Library as part of the
third phase of the library renovation.
