Donation Drive Policy

The library is committed to supporting community initiatives that promote Vincentian values, generosity, and local engagement. Student organizations and departments interested in hosting a donation‑drive box within the library must get approval from the Office of Student Involvement.

To meet community needs and maintain a safe and accessible environment for our patrons, organizations and departments must follow these guidelines:

  • Boxes may be placed in the library for a maximum of two weeks.
  • Boxes may be placed only in locations approved by the library.
  • Boxes must include the sponsoring organization or department's name, dates of the collection, and the place where items will be donated.
  • Unattended cash donation collection containers are not allowed.
  • Organizations and departments are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the donation area and should not allow donated items to exceed the space of the box.
  • Donations must be emptied daily and moved to a secure location. The library does not offer temporary storage space for donations.
  • The library is not responsible for securing the items within a donation drive box.
  • There is a limit of two donation boxes for any given donation drive for any organization or department.
  • The library may limit the number of concurrent or overlapping donation drives (usually 1 drive at a time).
