Room Reservations and Use

​The DePaul Loop Library and John T. Richardson Library provide group and solo study spaces, media studios, and conference and meeting rooms that can be reserved by current DePaul students, faculty, and staff for DePaul-related activities when the library is open. 


The following policies apply to all reservable spaces at the library. 

Reservations 

  • Reservations can only be made by current DePaul students, faculty, and staff.
  • Spaces cannot be reserved for recurring classes. Academic Affairs manages the assignments of courses to classrooms at the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses.
  • The Office of Academic Space and Scheduling offers a variety of classroom space on the Lincoln Park campus to host non-instructional or co-curricular events. 

Noise

Respect for those studying and conducting research in the library should be observed at all times. To minimize noise disruption:
  • Room doors should not be propped open
  • Sound volume for media should be kept at an intermediate level
  • Groups entering and leaving the library meeting spaces should interact with low voice levels.
  • Users should follow the library’s Noise Policy 

Personal Belongings 

The library is not responsible for theft, damage, or loss of personal property. Users should keep laptops, purses, book bags, and other valuables in their direct supervision at all times. 

Technology

Technology in library Meeting and Conference Rooms is supported by Information Services. For assistance in Meeting and Conference Rooms, press the Classroom Technology Hotline button on the phone next to the podium (or dial extension 2-5900) to speak with a support specialist.

Furniture

Please return all room furniture to where it was found. 

Food

The library’s Food and Drink Policy applies to these spaces. Event catering is permitted only in meeting and conference rooms. Catering must be arranged by the event organizer through Chartwell’s; no other food or restaurant deliveries are permitted.

Photography and Filming

The library’s Photography, Filming, and Audio Recording Policy applies to these spaces.

Use

Users of these spaces are expected to follow the library’s Code of Conduct
