As online courses have increased at DePaul, the Library has increased its instructional support of students in these courses.
Tutorials and Course Guides
- Point students to our
self-paced tutorials explaining common research tasks and how to use library resources.
- We can build an online guide with resources tailored specifically to a course and/or assignment. See our

Assignment Collaboration
Designing an assignment that incorporates research? Check-in with us. We can update you on any new online resources, as well as point you towards tutorials that will support your students in their research.
Embedding
A librarian can embed in your online class using the pre-configured "Librarian" role in D2L. Having an embedded librarian allows students to have direct access to a subject specialist through D2L. Embedding may also include librarian-graded assignments in Dropbox, tutorials, and research consultations with students. Depending on the level of embedding, it can be time-intensive. Contact us if you are interested and we will do our best to match your needs with our resources and availability.
Research Consultations
We now offer research consultations online and via phone for our online students. Encourage students to make an
appointment for a consultation.
